then in July 2010 I bought new front/rear o2 sensors and took my car to Group 5 Motorsports (I think they are out of business, but not sure) and their tech took my test pipe out, put my cat back in, swapped out my o2 sensors with the ones I bought, then re-flashed the APR to remove the "Test Pipe" flash and go back to the normal APR flash. Thanks.Įurocode tuning originally in 2007 when they put the k04 in. But yeah I will try the real driving method and see what I get. VCDS is just reading the output and initiating the Basic Tests for you. They say it's not the VCDS doing the readiness check, but the ECM itself. Ross-Tech says that if the car is good, you can get readiness just by running this and never having to drive anywhere. So we'll see.Īnd this is what I had been trying to do: This executes the Misfire, Secondary AIR, Fuel Trim, and Purge system monitors.īTW, I have yet to throw any Engine DTC's, I am just "Not Ready" on the catalytic converter and o2 sensors. * Decelerate and idle the vehicle again for 3 minutes. This executes the Catalyst O2S, Misfire, Fuel Trim, and Purge System monitors. * Accelerate the vehicle smoothly to 60-65 mph, cruise constantly for 5 min * Accelerate the vehicle to an engine speed of 5000 RPM (with automatic transmission use the tip-tronic mode) lift off the throttle until the engine speed is around 1200 rpm. This executes the EVAP, O2S, Fuel Trim, and Misfire monitors.
* Drive the vehicle at 45-55 mph for a continuous 7 minute period, avoid stopping. This executes the O2S Heater, Misfire, Secondary AIR, Fuel Trim, and Purge system monitors. I have to drive bout 30 miles to/from work so i'll have time to try:
#VCDS ROSS TECH CODE#
If its not and its not throwing a code that I'm not sure what to tell you.I will try this tomorrow and see. I would like to add, I've never used the "Set Readiness" function, but I've found that given 10-15 minutes of driving at various speeds, it should be set by then. On other tests such as SAI test it shows "Test ON" solid for a long time, I hear the pump, then it later goes "System OK". Test 043 and 046 just go and go and go (brake on and throttle at 2000-2300, whatever ECM max sets to), and I see "Test ON" then 5-25 seconds later quickly I see a flicker and it shows "Test OFF" then back to "Test ON". I still cannot get my "Catalytic Converter(s)" or "Oxygen Sensor(s)" to pass readiness. but for some reason it wont if I just run Set Readiness. I ran through a few of these manually and the ECU did limit the RPM. This doesn't seem "limited" to me, right? There is also another one that tests the pre sensor and says let your engine idle until it shows something like Sctl.Ok or Sys.Ok (I cant remember the word exactly), but I let it idle for 3 minutes and nothing ever happened. I press the accelerator and it goes all the way to 6000rpm (near red line). Running the set readiness, I get to the part where it is testing o2 and tells me that the engine will be limited RPM's by the ECU. Running Ross-Tech Hex+Can USB adapter and VCDS 11.11.3.
